Sinha Lab
Needs-based innovation to improve health
Our lab develops solutions to address unmet needs in gastrointestinal health. We specialize in characterizing how nutrition and other therapies shapes microbiome–host–immune interactions, with a particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease. Our research integrates clinical investigation with molecular and systems biology to uncover mechanistic insights and therapeutic opportunities. Leveraging our expertise in gastroenterology, we also explore broader systemic health challenges to identify shared pathways and interventions.
Our lab is focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of diseases, particularly inflammatory bowel disease, through innovative, patient-centered research. By integrating clinical insights with cutting-edge multi-omic technologies, we aim to identify mechanisms driving disease and predict individualized responses to potential treatments. Our lab is particularly focused on using advanced computational technologies and novel devices to understand how gut metabolite and microbiome changes–often influenced by diet and medications–impact disease.
Working in a lab that focuses on interdisciplinary research to improve the lives of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and other medical challenges is both inspiring and rewarding. Our collaborative environment encourages creativity and learning, drawing on expertise from diverse fields to uncover new insights and potential treatments. Our team is driven by curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to making a tangible impact in healthcare.
